The forest was quiet, and dark as usually, barely any light came from the canopy above. All was peacefull, until- "Over here, Ambereye! I scented it from over here! Right here, here!" A high pitched meow broke throug the silence and sent a couple of lovestruck finches flying away. The light gray tabby stopped in the center of a clearing and her chest heaved up and down in tired-ness as she stomped on the soft ground below her paws.

"All right, all right. I'm coming, Grayleaf," a lower voice said from the shadows. The black-and-orange mottled she-cat stepped out towards her friend, sitting next to the hyper cat.
"What was it you scented?" she asked calmly.

Grayleaf thumped the forest floor once more and the looked at the canopy, as if looking for advice, "I remember, I remember, I remember," she murmered, then perked up. "Oh yeah, it was a squirrel, there was a squirel, rigt here, and it went up that tree," she mewed excitedly pointing with her muzzle towards the top of a nearby tree. "Do you realize what this means, Ambereye?" she asked in a shocked expression.

"That there's a squirrel in the tree?" Ambereye guessed. She looked up into the tree, but didn't see much through the leaves. Then she saw a movement on a low branch. The squirrel. It was looking for nuts among the leaves and branches. Instinctively, Ambereye dropped into a hunting crouch.

"No Ambereye, that there's prey in the old forest, there's never any prey here!" She looked over at her friend and saw her in the hunting crouch. She shook her head. "Ambereye, You can't reach the squirrel from there!" she corrected the black and orange she cat like a mentor would an apprentice. [/size]

Ambereye scoffed quietly and chuckled to herself. "Grayleaf," she started, sitting up. "I've already been mentored, and half the time I was teaching myself. I taught myself to hunt, and I hunt just fine," she finished calmly. She crouched back into her position, then stalked to the other side of the tree.
"If you think you can catch it, catch it," she challenged as she padded normally from around the tree, a mischievious glint in her eyes.

Grayleaf nodded as a mischevious smile crept onto her face. She then jumped onto the bark of the tree. As she dd this, the squirrel seemed to freak out and look around, trying to find the approaching danger. The gray she-cat tried to make herself blend against the tree bark, but being gray against oak doesn't work... the squirrel seemed fine though and went back to eating. Grayleaf then clawed her way up te tree and scrambled onto the tree-branch. It shook a bit, and she regained balance. The squirrel yawned once. Then she attacked. Then squirrel was in her mouth, but she seemed to forget she was n a tree. She spiraled to the ground, squirrel in grasp, it strugled to free itself. She flipped in the air and landed on the forest floor awkwardly, but in attack position. The squirrel looked traumatized.

Ambereye laughed. "Nice catch, Graceleaf!" she meowed, her whiskers twitching with amusement. SHe chuckled as she looked at the squirrel. "Are you going to kill it, or what?" she asked calmly, regaining her composure once more.

Grayleaf's head bobbed, she bit down, giving a fatal bite to the small brow squirrel. She then dropped it and laughed hideously. "I'm the best!" she announced, subconciously and dizzied.

"Whatever," Ambereye murmured, picking up the squirrel and burying it by the tree. "Is that all you wanted to show me?" she asked when she was done cleaning her paws after digging in the dirt. "If it is, then I want to explore the forest."

"Yep," The dizzy she-cat nodded. She shook her head, to relive herself of dizziness. She beamed at her friend. Until a fly came buzzing around her head. Then she started swatting away at that. "I'll destroy you!! EVIL FLY!!!" she bit at it and rolled around the fores floor, trying to get it. It flew off and she sulked, lying there.

Ambereye chuckled. "Why do you chase that's little six-legged, furless mice with wings anyway, Grayleaf?" she asked calmly, but a hint of amusement in her voice. "Normally, I just ignore them."

"They're evil, Ambereye," she explained and got to her feet, she licked her chest and looked around, te buzzing noise came back and her fur bristled. "It's back," she hissed.

"How can they be evil, Grayleaf? They can't even bite you! They don't have claws or teeth!" Ambereye meowed calmly, but a little loudly. A bird flew off from the tree and Ambereye knew she needed to stop yelling. She took a deep breath, and calmed herself.

"Uh.. hello... Hopescar," Ambereye meowed slowly. She had never seen a cat eat a harmless fly before, nor had she seen a cat pin a fly to the ground. She shook her head to clear it, then looked at Grayleaf.

"AMBEREYE! We're under attack!" Grayleaf exlaimed and padded closer to her in a rushing manner, her fur bristled. "Back- Wait, yohave a Rockclan scent... oh it's just Hopescar..." the gray tabby licked her chest, trying to look calm. But her tail gave away her insanity with a twitch "I knew that,"

Ambereye chuckled. "Of course you did, Grayleaf," she mewed in an amusedly sarcastic way. She looked back at Hopescar. "You just.. ate a fly...," she pointed out. Pointing out the obvious was one of the things she was known for.
