Murderer! Traitor! Deceitful coward! The voices inside his head screamed their harsh accusations. Theif! Deceiver! Lawless scum! All names, all talk, all things he'd heard before. Assassin! Pretender! Silver-tounged liar! Condemning words, playing over and over from the borken record in his mind. Its my living, how I survive, I did what was best for me. You killed her. Her fault, she got in my way. Murderer. Silence! It was either her or I. They're coming for you Dimedinte. They'll catch you and make you pay for what you've done. Let them come. I care not. They will not catch me. Never will my past catch up. Oh Dinte, foolish Dimedinte. You shall soon find out how wrong you are.[/i]
The black cat shook his head firmly, driving out the inner demons that whispered of shadowed ghosts hidden in his past. For they were in the past, and they were nothing to him now. For the game which Dinte so cleverly plays can never allow what he has done to catch up. As he traveled away from that land, that good land he had so selfishly taken advantage of, he never once felt regret. Until, of course, he had discovered that the family pursued him. Perhaps, he thought, it wasn't so much regret that he killed her and 'betrayed' them. But more that there was a possibility of Aero and his friends getting their revenge on him. He sighed. Life would be much easier if cats didn't get so upset about who killed who and who did what. In his opinion they needed to relax. He arched his back and stretched. Yes, they should all relax.
Feeling much calmed, Dinte finally surveyed the area about him, nodding in satisfaction. It seemed to him to be the land he was told of. Tracking down his half-brother he had never met had been quite the chore. Rapidgale was his name. The tom snorted. Cats in this land had the strangest names. Even the clan he belonged to was called Rockclan, or something like that. But what he was called and what he belonged to was called was not important. Other than their foolish traditions in names, it was perfect. He had everything planned out. He would shelter with his long lost brother, pull out the old 'we sare the same blood!' thing, and protect himself from Aero and his vengeful followers. Dimtedinte smiled. And you tell me that I'll regret my actions. Ha! His inner voice did not reply. The black toms green eyes glittered in excitement.[/size]
